Boxes and Bullets Essay Structure
Mr. Allen's demonstration of how the Boxes and Bullets Structure works
Below you'll find a file showing what the boxes and bullets essay structure looks like without all of the confusing parentheses and stuff. A few things to notice: each reason is highlighted in a different color. This is to show you how the reasons listed in your introduction help to structure the rest of your essay. For example, the first reason (in light blue), "most clothing stores do not sell clothes that fit the schools' dress codes," is found again in the first body paragraph as part of the topic sentence. The same pattern follows with the second body paragraph (in pink). The claim, "School dress codes are unfair to girls," shows itself again in each body paragraph. The topic, "school dress codes," is highlighted in yellow. The opinion on the topic, "are unfair to girls," is highlighted in green.
